Im using 99% of my brain and im dumb.. Joke
AN1MAL's deja vu thread got me thinking.
Well, its a well known fact that humans use less than 10% of thier brains.
But isn't it amazing what we have achieved with 10%?
We are not even that far away of galactic colonisation.
There maybe humans living on Mars in 40 - 50 years time.
Which doesn't sound that far away to me...
Computers also.
In 2024, a computer will match the capabilities of the human mind.
Meaning, we give birth to AI.
And since computers double in speed and half in size every 18 months (Moore's law ) what will happen in 2025?
Will computers be twice as powerful as us?

In all seriousness, a person that uses 100% of their brain would be God.. right?
in theory yes, cause if u used 100% brain capacity or w/e. You would be able to let ur body do anything u want, something which will never happen. Using 100% of your brain means full body control. U would be busy pumping ur hart, busy healing wounds etc. But u would also be able to regenerate (since u can control cell recovery), be able to move stuff (by charging ur body with electrons >< ). If u used 100% brain, i doubt u would last that long cuz u have to manage everything in ur body (nothing goes on itsself anymore.
That explains my godness power
Indeed, Farhad.
Of course, though, if your mind was running at 100% potential, it would be able to operate those functions or disclose itself to a capacity limit, allowing for involuntary functions whilst doing extraordinary voluntary functions, such as regeneration, growth, and mental concentration, allowing the human to analyze and predict events with superb accuracy; predicting the future.
Bibamus, gaudeamus.
Exactly.
100% use of the human mind is probably something we can't even understand even at 99%
10% isn't really much.. I mean.. if you got 50,000 euros .. and your only allowed to use 10%.. you do the math
if a computer can think and learn on its own den maybe but if the info is fed to it then newp
Computers would be able to rule the world.
If you can program a computer to program another computer, it is endless.

Hoi.
First of all that 10% bullshit is, you know... bullshit. Go Google it if you don't believe me.
Second of all just because our computers are getting faster, there is also a similar law called Wirth's Law, which states that software gets twice as slow roughly every 18 months, and from my experience that's true (Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, Firefox, etc).
The problem with both laws is even though computers are getting faster, they are increasing in cores and not frequency, so the overall computation speed does not matter as long as an applications utilizes a single core. The problem as most of you can see in Wirth's law is that these increases in functionality can bring about slower usage, so if all software didn't "improve," it wouldn't matter. But it does. However I can still use more software than before at one time, so I'm not complaining.
Second of all, I read in a place that it will be in 2040-2050 when AI that matches human intelligence, of course it depends on how you analyze human intelligence vs computer intelligence since they aren't exactly apple and oranges.
Third of all we ALL die in 2012. Xanthalulu says so.
BRING BACK BT, BRING BACK SAGA, BRING BACK VF, BRING BACK MPGHCRAFT, BRING BACK HABAMON
I know the 10% thing is bullshit.
I was using it more as an example, because there is no way we use 100% of our brain.
There are still parts of our brain we have no clue in what it is actually used for.
As for the computer thing, its more of a humorous look on it than actual fact :/
Software gets slower because of coder laziness not to make it efficient.
Obviously AI would require top secret coding from the best coders in the Government or some shit...
Fuck no.
Best coders from Japan.

Farthard inspired u
i also inspire ******s like u :@
