I have an English essay due tomorrow annnnd I haven't started yet..... lelelel
Even though I get an extension because I just got back from QLD a day ago.

So anyways, the topic is on Australian Identity.... about identity and belonging or sumshizzle

I was thinking about writing about a Japanese immigrant that came to Aus feeling un-excepted and left-out.

He goes to join a racing club/ team and there are already 2 guys in it

guy one: Bruce
guy 2: mike

Bruce does'nt like immigrants and bullies the jap
Mike throughout the story tries to prevent dis shizzle from happening.....


the bullying ends up getting so bad that the Jap decides to move back to Japooooon

Doesn't directly address the prompt of AUSTRALIAN identity. You could talk about an immigrant who had difficultly identifying with Australian culture but eventually was able to overcome those problems if you use the example of a child joining school as a preteen-teen who had to re-learn how to socialize and adapt to the culture, especially since social trends propagate through school as kids follow the media. By doing that you can describe what it means to be Australian indirectly. You have to make sure to address positive sides of Australian culture with a bit of negative sides too. A project like this though seems like its trying to enforce nationalism by coming up with a story about what it means to be Australian so it makes sense to have more positive sides than negative sides.
