In my eyes university is dam Expensive chap!
Daum, university was a lot cheaper than I expected. Seems nationwide around Japan tuition is the same.
For undergraduate students, it costs anually ¥250,000(Around 3k USD) to get entrance to the engineering facility, and then ¥550,000 (around 6k) anually for class tuition. Around 9k per year, much cheaper than I thought.
My main problem is cost of living. I'd really prefer to go to a university in a place like Tokyo or Kobe, but it's so damn expensive living there than it is in Chiba or Kochi. Tokyo just has to be the best university too, My parents won't support my cost of living either, nooo.
Though 4 years only around 36,000 USD, pretty decent price.
note: this is for prefectural colleges. Private would be around 70k USD

Will probably be a lot more when I go to med school.
Yeah, I'm sort of deciding on engineering and working for a company like NEC or Sony, but I'm also somewhat interested in law too.
I still have a year left to finally decide, so yeah.
Law isn't that much more expensive in Japanese university. Only around 10,000 USD a year, but to become a lawyer you have to pass the Japanese Bar exam, which is the definition of difficult
Dang man, that's really cheap
Well, this is for a prefectural college.
A private college would be around 5-6 million yen for 4 years, which is closer to 70k USD
Why not take out a loan for housing in say, Tokyo, and have your parents pay tuition. You can live cheap for a few years after college to pay off that housing loan, and after that, you can work for a good company with the quality degree you have.
I didn't have these probably because I had a mostly full ride with scholarships, but good luck to you.
Doctors Degree ftw. I am going for programming.
