DayZ *MIGHT* be ported to next-gen consoles!

Hall: Console Version of DayZ is Almost Certain | EGMNOW

Console owners rejoice as DayZ creator Dean Hall has stated that a port from the PC is almost a certainty if all goes well.

“Certainly I think if we don’t, for want of a better word ‘f**k up,’ the PC release then I would say a console port is almost certain,” Hall told The Escapist. ”I know a lot of people get really hot and bothered about it. Like, I’m not a console gamer, I’m a PC gamer, but I don’t think it necessarily has to hurt things.”

Currently there is no console version in development, but Hall hinted at the PlayStation 4 being the most likely choice for a console release.

“It appears to be the kind of game that Sony are interested in. I think we just have to wait and see,” he said. “ We've talked and met with Sony, and they’re very – you know, they’re obviously interested.”

A console port would give a serious boost to the game’s already massive fanbase, but it would have to be a next-gen release to do it justice–I doubt that current-gen consoles would have enough power to support the game efficiently.

Well, why would you hope for that? The more 12 year olds the more noob hackers or the more noobs to be hacked. I can't hack them on their consoles... plus DayZ is such a huge selling point for PCs and their market... wanting something to stop being PC exclusive is stupid, for so many reasons. (unless you're the one selling it, of course.)
