    Why do people hate Alienware?

So i'm looking at getting a new laptop and i'm wondering why people seem to hate Alienware so much?

Their prices for laptops are pretty competitive in Australia and you can't just say 'building one is cheaper' because it's a laptop.

People say it's overpriced, but then again a MacBook is even more overpriced.

    It's overpriced - main argument.
If I was to of bought my rig with Alienware, I'd say it'd be around 60% more expensive.

As mentioned, they are criminally overpriced. And they are not really even all that great compared to plenty of cheaper home builds.

And about the laptop thing, thats a joke too. Do not ever buy 'gaming' laptops. No laptop is going to play games at decent graphics, and decent FPS, regardless of its price. If there is one, it will be guaranteed to chew threw so much battery power, you will have to have it plugged up while playing, which at that point when being tethered down you may as well have just bought a desktop.

Gaming laptops sacrifices every benefit of having a laptop, which is portability, size, and freedom to move around. Gaming laptops are heavy, need to be tethered down so save their batteries from dying after one hour of playing a game, and are clunky and frankly, usually ugly looking too.

And for te record, you can build your own laptop. Its benefit will not be as great compared to a desktop, but you can scrounge up parts online to make your own.

Alienware is incredibly overpriced for what you get. I could custom build a System for half the price.

Purchasing an AlienWare would be considered a esteem item, in my opinion. People buy an AlienWare product just for the brand name, unaware of other facts.
I will make this really, really short. They are very overpriced. If you have enough knowledge, you can build a PC that is much better in performance and looks as apposed to spending the money on an AlienWare.

The argument may "why would I want to build a laptop", but why would you want a laptop for gaming in the first place?
Anyways, building a custom PC is the best bet.
