Zed for dummies

Introduction; Hi, my name is nigjew and i'm currently a gold IV player.
This is my 1ST guide to playing Zed.

Pros:
Hard to gank W/O a stun
Can burst down the squishy, and the tanky.
After lvl 6 people will fear you.
Hella annoying to lane against when you're a mage.
He will shit on you lategame if you're not carefull
Blade of the ruined king
Energy

Low mobility(reason you get lots of hp pots)
Champs w/ longer range will make it difficult for him
Might wanna be extra carefull early on
High cooldown on his W, so take care when using it.
Consumes energy fast.

Spells
I recommend getting flash and ignite when going top or mid, and flash smite when jungling.
Ghost is also a good, but IMO flash is better for zed.

PASSIVE: Contempt for the weak
Whenever Zed autoattacks an enemy below 50% health, he deals an additional 6 / 8 / 10% of their maximum health as magic damage. This effect cannot occur on the same target more than once every 10 seconds.
This is a good tool for lasthitting creeps, and getting the extra burst with the ultimate.

Q: Razor Shuriken
Zed and his shadows throw their shurikens, each dealing physical damage to the first enemy they pass through and a lesser amount to enemies thereafter.
Don't max this skill IMO. get one point and that's it.

W: (Passive): Zed's bonus attack damage is increased by a percentage.
Additional Bonus Attack Damage: 5 / 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 %
(Active): Zed's shadow dashes forward, remaining in place for 4 seconds. Reactivating this ability will cause Zed to switch positions with this shadow.
Zed's shadow will mimic his basic abilities. If both strike the same target Zed regains some energy. Energy can only be restored once per mimicked ability.
Max this skill 2nd, explanation; free ad is always good, costs less and lower cd(really good)

E: (Active): Zed and his shadows create a burst of shadow, dealing physical damage to nearby enemies.
Zed's slash reduces the cooldown of Living Shadow by 1 second for each enemy struck. His shadows' slashes slow enemies for 1.5 seconds.
This skill is a pain for the opposing player, max this by lvl 9, since you want the 180+(0.3 ad) every 3 secs.

R(Ultimate): (Active): Zed becomes untargetable and dashes to target enemy champion. Upon arrival, he marks the target for death and spawns a living shadow behind the target. This shadow lasts 4 seconds and mimics Zed's abilities. Reactivating Death Mark will cause Zed to switch positions with this shadow.
After 3 seconds, the mark will detonate, dealing physical damage equal to 100% of Zed's attack damage plus a percentage of all magic and physical damage dealt to the target by Zed and his shadows while the mark was active.
Max this ASAP, this is the reason why Zed is such a good champion.

Item build:
Start off with an elixir of fortitude and a ward + 4 hp pots or 6 hp pots instead of a ward.
Your major goal should be getting a Blade of the Ruined King, and after that either go for a black cleaver, a bloodthirster or boots.
Boots; CDR Boots(for spamming spells), Ninja tabi(if you're scared of the ad), Merc threads(if the ap is a pain)
A full build could look like; Blade of the ruined king, black cleaver, cdr boots, warmog, bloodthirster and last whisper.

NOTICE: When ulting ALWAYS use blade of the ruined king first(for max dmg) and follow up with EQE and some autoattacks.

Now go out and play ZED

Also, take care if they have an exhaust, since it will buzzkill your ult.

Max Q 2nd, W last.


W is a essentially a Free Flash to stop you getting ganked, you only need 1 point in it, the Bonus AD doesn't matter early to mid game because Zed has high base damages on his abilities meaning that Armor Pen is more effective than AD at this stage.
