I think he didn't go all literal when refering to history. I get your point, If I was ever interested in history itself, it would be in ancient times and how living beings lived their life and evolved back then. But I'm must concern you that he's most likely not pointing to Cience, but to the 'human history' instead. I don't know if you're trolling tho...


OT: I actually enjoy knowing history, how humans prevailed and developed into this society. But since I'm really lazy I would enjoy it better if I just learnt from films, showing the main events of the past centuries, like "the bible" movie:



The movie is really big, since it approaches the most important events throughout history, based on the bible. A portuguese actor play roles as Jesus, if you didn't watch it yet, I recommend you to watch it.

I like classical history because there is so much stuff that can be mirrored to current times. The political atmosphere as well as the scientific atmosphere was pretty cool if you compare it to today. Other than classics, I also take interest in the renaissance because shit gets interesting again in terms of arts, technology, and politics. Also really interesting to follow is the Roman Catholic Church through history and learning about the shit they did and the influence they had in local politics in Italy as well as the global role they played.
