Installing a game(Skyrim)

Hey Guys,
I recently borrowed Syrim from my friend and it was working very well in his home and I decided to borrow it. I put it in my PS3 which is brand new-ish got it this January. It had to download an update and then it started installing the game. It decided to get stuck at around 36%(I think) and it just stayed there. Waited about an hour or two and it was still there. I tried again the next day it still didn't work. Can anyone help me play this game? I really, really want to play it!

Delete the update data for Skyrim and redownload it. It seems like your download was corrupted and that's what is causing the issue.

I've done that but it seems to be the same. I tried to re-download the update and then delete it but it still hasn't worked. I've deleted the installation file and also the update and re-tried from there but still no help.

/bump still hasn't been installing can anyone else help me resolve this issue?

Been looking around for solutions to this issue. It seems Sony hasn't officially addressed this issue, as it's cause can be a number of things.

Try this:
Go to system > network settings > media server connection > disable then try to download and install the game update again.

It got stuck between 34-36% and it still hasn't went up from there.

Are you running the latest firmware from Sony? The final solution is to restore your PS3 to factory settings.

Be sure you know your PSN account info, back up any saved games to an external drive, and deactivate your console before restoring.

oh ok if you restore your ps3 its ok but the other option was go the recovery menu and rebuild data base sometimes you have to many corrupted files on your ps3 and you wont be able to download files correctly now make sure you have enough space on your hardrive to download the update

I don't think I'm going to play Skyrim,I don't think it's worth restoring everything so if anyone could /close this or something that'd be awesome.

like i said you don't need to recover anything there's many solution to your problems except restoring

Having older corrupted files for other games would not cause issues with downloading new updates.
