Yeah, I have my FX-8350 OC'd to 4.2 GHz without losing any stability whatsoever, and it costs a fuckload cheaper than a 3970K. I could care less about Intel when I can pay hundreds less for performance that suits my needs perfectly fine. You don't need to spend 1000 bucks on a processor unless you are rendering graphics/CGI.

Intel vs AMD is an age old debate which won't be concluded by any opinions here.

Benchmarks prove the champion.

This is the truth.

However I have to say, Intel are a bit more expensive but they give great resuslts.
AMD are cheaper and with OC they can play games on higher settings, and the results are close to an Intel.
If I were to say AMD is better/worse than Intel, there is no answer, unless we compare one processor of each brand and see the benchmarks

It's 5Ghz out of the box because turbo clocking is passive. As soon as any load hits it, it will clock up to 5Ghz. So 4.7Ghz base clocking up to 5Ghz on the fly.

That record was broken last year... by AMD. Besides, that record doesn't mean shit when most of the cores get disabled...

They had to modify the mobo, add hardware, and use a small amount of liquid nitrogen for cooling. They also never mentioned how stable it was. That is not a win if you need to utilize liquid nitrogen just to keep the chip cool, that is stupid. Any sort of power surge and the chip would have fried almost immediately, as well the lack of reports on stability simply prove it to not be a wise choice. You can OC any Phenom II to 8 GHz, it won't be stable, but you can do it. Same shit with the P4.
