in reality the US does care enough about the citizens of Afghanistan, if they didn't they could of immediately dictated the whole area as a threat and used an arsenal of missiles to completely eradicate the entire country and pretty most of the middle east (think of Afghanistan's environment similar to the outside of metro last light...where you got your avy).
