Last night as you probably know we did a sweep through our database and locked accounts that looked like bots or mules. As part of this, we had to soulbind everything so that botters couldn't unload stuff from one account to another.
We've completed this process and are now turning soulbinding off (this is what we meant by "temporary"). Items that were previously soulbound (including untiered items) still are, but everything that was trade-able yesterday will be trade-able again.
As the result of this process, we've locked over 140,000 bot/mule accounts. These were accounts that shared certain attributes, including but not limited to being those that had only 1st-level characters on them. Along with removing the ability to teleport in the Nexus, this should limit the number of auto-loot bots we see in the future.
I know that some of you who don't use loot bots will also have had mule accounts locked as part of this process. Just as a reminder, there is no such thing as a "legitimate" mule account, particularly if it's one that sees little or no time being played. We will review any support tickets sent in about this, but we do not anticipate restoring many (if any) accounts locked as a result of this sweep.
Finally, please note that this may not be the last time we do this. We will try to keep such sweeps as brief and infrequent as possible, but will do them as we need to. We are continuing to work on additional long-term fixes that should make this sort of short-term sweep unnecessary.
