how to kill your addiction

I admit I get addicted to things easily.

I'm in my last year of high school with my HSC (like SATs in the US?) coming up in less than 4 months now. I have no fucking idea why I decided to download Combat Arms again - I uninstalled most of my games last year. Now, I think i'm getting addicted again, and it's the worst time cos I have trial-HSC exams coming up in 4 weeks. Getting pretty stressed out about exams and I easily drift off onto Combat Arms to chill out and end up playing for a few hours. fuck.

Is there a program to restrict when I can use certain applications? I think my last resort will be uninstalling again, but my internet usage is only 50gigs/month so it's quite a hit downloading it again..

You can get parental control programs to restrict you from using things at a certain time, but it would be easy to disable if you installed it yourself.

Why would you get addicted to CA anyway... is ded man.

@h3artbreaker If you use parental control, don't even set a time when you are allowed to play. You will be able to change the time in the boot menu so if you're really addicted you will change the time. Parental control thus become useless.

Put it in a rar file, then put it a password on it. Ask your mom/dad to type in some random shit so you don't know and can't access the games.

I am in school myself, taking IT classes.I am also addicted to gaming since it's my escape from reality . I wouldn't say you need parental controls but the will to use the game moderately.

I have to do 3 hours of studying everyday... I tell myself that before I do any gaming I would take that time to study and know my shit before I sit to game.

Try to practice it at first. It takes time. Addictions are form of habit, if you break the habit then you break the addiction. Try forming a new habit of studying before gaming (3 hours or more I don't know how much time you need) then game after to relax or un-stress yourself.

Try it this week and try to form a habit out of it. If you keep to it you will see the urges to game will slowly go away, and studying and school work will be easier to focus on, so you can take that HSC of yours

Our prices are high because we have relatively high incomes. Additionally, our inflation is much higher than that of the US, but our economy isn't complete shit.
