got banned on my main for playing on a alt

so one day i was playing with lmaobox on a alt a couple weeks later my main is banned from all vac servers lost all my items but 2 items i registered both accounts with diffrent emails i have no idea what happend contacted steam support i have not got a response yet i really have no idea what happend.

no my accounts has never been hijacked but so far with a little bit of research it seems the only reasonable explanation

So you must have cheated on that account. If you weren't then you should be unbanned, you already contacted steam support so just wait for an answer or maybe even fill another ticket, your choice.

My guess is that it has to do with the Steampipe Update. All hacks that have aimbot, wallhack, etc... modify dll's in the game folder which flags your account for a VAC ban if it is a VAC protected game. Now with all your accounts using one tf2 folder it modifies the dll's and all of your accounts are flagged.

well i got a response and nothing no info still banned im gonna try and fill out another ticket but if they give me no info again i geuss thats it for my main account

lmaobox, somewhere you mentioned about that VAC update where Steam can read your IP address and network card MAC address. Maybe Valve is locking accounts to prevent ban avoiding?

Nope, bypassing VAC by creating new account is not against Valve's policy.

If i am right, that means that the things valves says about VAC are outdated and need to be changed immediately.

Bull shit. I've used a detected hack. and my other "account" and it isn't banned. its been 5 months since.


This has been said before. If someone used a cheat\hack on a public computer then everyone else that logged in would get banned.

Sorry, i guess i am confused as well on why i got banned. (I am also WAY more used to PunkBuster enabled games)
