If you're new to PS, start out with SP, (Small Pieces) it's hard to think of things to fill a LP.
It's just plain, and all black. Just looks like a red swirl, with the AMD logo.
So I did this in some spare time. I realize it's nothing incredibly special, and I'm still somewhat new to Photoshop anyways, so I wondered how I did in terms of a desktop background. Cnc is always good.

I don't see anything special about it
Its really nice for a beginner, Just keep experimenting with different tools, Photoshop is all about trial and error and what you think looks good to the eye. Read up or look up some tuts on youtube or google, Best of luck man. Can't wait to see more.
The second one looks pretty good. The red swirls looked a bit weird for me, the difference between the red and green swirls was a bit too drastic for me.
For being new to photoshop they look pretty good, you have some potential. Keep trying new things.
