The Great Gatsby

Last night I finally got to watch the Great Gatsby

Never been so disappointed in a movie...
The visuals and acting was great but...

First of all, they used modern music in a movie that was based in 1922...
Flux pavilion, Kanye West & Jay Z made pretty much the whole soundtrack.

Secondly, they got so much shit wrong, it was set in 1922, yet it seemed like it was set later.
Half of the props weren't even invented in 1922. I mean, the phone they used wasn't even invented at that time...

The vocabulary was completely wrong

The story-line was... meh
but the acting was great.
Just pretty pissed off that a movie that big was a let down.

In terms of the music I thought it was good, the book was about a world that was ahead of it's time, it wouldn't make sense to have period music in the movie now that we're in the 21st century. In terms of the rest of the movie, it was trash. Leo and Joel were the only good parts about the movie. Also they made us rush the CGI so half the film looks fake as fuck.

Especially when <can't remember name of main girl>'s face was in the clouds.... wat, that was like face in hole stuff hahaha

Leo did a great job, especially when he was in the house, ran out and then knocked on the door.
Did you really think that 'Who gon stop me (Kanye, Jay Z & Flux)' song was necessary? I get what it was trying to say but I just felt that the genre
chosen didn't fit at all.

Have you seen a movie called Into the white? I'd recommend that for a good movie

Well yea, half the songs chosen were shit, but the thought behind it was pretty good.

I really loved Gatsby. I hated Toby though, his whole character made me want to punch him square in the jaw. Wish they had picked another actor.
