The testicles are called "gonads", mostly is the main difference between men and women, we both have gonads, just that they work in a different way, the women's are inside and the men's are outside, there are two purposes of the gonads, one is to produce sperm, this is right as everybody else is told you, but the other reason is to produce male hormones (testosterone), this hormones are the substances that make the male body look manly and that is why women look soft and different, because of this hormones is that men develop strong factions, hair in the face, the penis growth, muscular development, etc., everything that makes look different women and men. Hope this answer helps you understand a bit better your body, and remember there are many reasons why we have every different organ in the body.
