I think they should just stick to PC instead of branching out.
I really don't think they have a chance competing with M$ and Sony in the living room.
The steam controller is bound to fail, i mean track pads, seriously? /fp
All of their followers are on PC, roughly 50% of them (according to the steam hardware tracker) have good computers and i doubt would want to buy a steam box just to play games that they already have on their computer on a TV in the living room with a fucking trackpad controller.

I think it'll be a nice touch to the Steam market.
And, by adding their OS as a freebie, they'll benefit as most decent games have to be bought anyway, so it's free advertising really.

I do like the steam controller though, it doesn't seem very practical for FPS, but nevertheless looks pretty slick. It reminds me of the: Razer DeathStalker Ultimate Gaming Keyboard - Switchblade User Interface Keyboard - Razer Australia I wouldn't mind seeing what minimal specs are, perhaps i'd even be able to run the SteamOS from my beaglebone black or raspberry pi.

Me too, I think it'll be great!
I have a feeling that in later stages, Steam OS could become as popular as ubuntu and linux
