None of your logic here makes sense.
This is absolutely insane, it will blow your mind.
There is a race between a person and a turtle. The person is obviously a lot faster, so the turtle is given a 100m head start. The runner runs 10 times as fast as the turtle. When the race starts, the person sprints 100m, then he is at the position that the turtle was at the start. By the time he has ran this 100m, the turtle has ran 10m. He continues running and after 10m, he is at where the turtle was at the previous step, and by this time the turtle is 1m ahead. This distance between the runner and turtle continues to decrease by a factor of 10 every time the runner catches up to where the turtle was, and it continues infinitely. Does the runner ever pass the turtle? We know it does in real life, but how? If the runner does, he is completing an infinite number of actions in a finite time...?!?!?!?!

Yeah your explanation makes no sense. But its a cool thing to think about ^_^

I don't see any rule saying the pursuer must get progressively slower. The pursuer and the turtle both run at a constant velocity, and the pursuer runs 10 times as fast as the turtle. It's not a fallacy, and no theory is being set up, this is a paradox.
EDIT: I should have known better than to post this on here...

Interesting post. Makes sense until the factors & stuff lol
At a constant velocity the pursuer surpasses the turtle... I don't think you understand how physics or just plain logic works. If we were to look at this logically, it is a fallacy, if we were to look at this scientifically than it is a theory with a really bad example. The theory is infinite sequences in a finite period... You even said it in your first post /fdp
I know that the runner passes the turtle, I admitted it in my first post. I do understand how physics and logic works, obviously more so than you.
This paradox, as I said before, has baffled the world's top mathematicians for over 2000 years, what makes you think you are smarter than them?
If you actually try and understand the paradox, you will see what the paradox is about - and you actually tried to say the paradox is a fallacy with the main concept of the paradox. If the runner catches up with the turtle, it seems he must have completed an infinite number of steps in a finite time, which is impossible. That is the paradox.

LOL I know................
THIS IS A BLOODY PARADOX NOT A SIMPLE PHYSICS QUESTION
