Backened IPs and port scanning

To those of you who may know this, there's a way to login as owner on hub servers. A hub server works by everyone joining a hub which checks if a username is premium or not, and joining sub-servers which are cracked. You cant join the sub servers directly without getting their direct IP address. You can usually domain resolve the host IP so you can get the numerical IP, problem is getting the IP of the sub-servers. Usually the sub servers have the same numerical ip with the hub server, but with a different port. That's where port scanning comes in. You can scan an IP for all ports with tools like nmap and mcportscanner from HF. Now, here's my problem, I can't seem to scan for ports with mcportscanner and nmap doesn't seem to work. Can you suggest me another port scanner or maybe tips with nmap. I asked on other forums but the communities weren't very helpful. Hope I can get help here.
