Keymapper will solve your issues.
I got an external keyboard for my laptop and it has this stupid "power" and "sleep" button on it that turn off my computer when I press it. Is there anyway to disable this on Windows 7? It's annoying the fuck out of me. And I don't want to remove they key since it would just look like an ugly hole without a button there.
Keymapper will solve your issues.
You were seeking strength, justice, splendour.
You were seeking love.
Here is the pit, here is your pit.
Its name is Silence..
It would help if you told us what sort of keyboard it is.
Also, you could try to change the power settings, and change what will be done when they key for sleep/shutdown is pressed.
(I don't think this would help, but worth a try)
-> Control Panel (switch to classic view)-> Power Options -> Advanced -> Power Buttons
Most keyboards which comes with such features, usually have a software that will allow you to disable these options.
(I'll take a quick look in system settings and post/edit to tell you if i found something of help)

I don't want more programs on my computer than I need. So if I still can't find a solution, I'll try yours. -Edit- Well looks like Jorndel's solution worked :P
I have one of those cheap, no brand keyboards. Got it for $5 after my previous keyboard broke. I have a new keyboard coming in soon so that's why I bought a cheap one. Anyways, the control panel thing worked Thanks!
