You will need to know quite a bit of maths, and C++.
Once you have knowledge of both, you'll need to learn some reverse engineering.
After that, you can open up any source and then read through it to figure out what's going on.

Either that, or you can just copy and paste and hope for the best. (I can guarantee that this path will get you nowhere)

Some people yes, but most don't bother to learn.
Take the time to learn, C+P will get you places, but if you can't be bothered you'll quickly tire out.
