There is always a risk of a ban when you're hacking, it's all down to the dumb fuckers who make it obvious by rage hacking or using detected hacks, try not to make it obvious.

If it's an vac UNDETECTED cheat and you're only worried about over watch than no, You can't receive an over watch ban so you can hack obviously

Of course not if the hack is undetected. But if you're using a detected one well yes you can. In deathmatch if you play obvious with undetected hack you possible wont get banned. Unless many people report you and you get an overwatcher watching your MM replay.

VAC is even active for local hosted games. detected hack gets you banned for playing competitive, on public servers or just a private hosted game.

Its almost sad that BOT games are also VAC secure, thus: using an obvious hack with bots or in a match with friends can trigger an Untrusted ban.
