    Upgrading GPU

Since my old GPU died on me last night (It went crazy after I overclock it)

Now I need a new one.

My old fps in game were 130 - 170. Can you people suggest me a decent priced GPU that will get me 250 - 300 fps?

    Cheers

Why do you need higher FPS than 130-170?

If you read my first line, my GPU died which means it no longer works.

I'm pretty sure any mid-tier GPU you buy will run CF fine.

How much are you willing to spend? "decent priced" can mean different prices for different people. Are you wanting below $300, or what?

I also agree with @dark rai20 that the GeForce GTX 550/560 is a good option, for $150-$200 it's a really good deal for what you're getting. To give you an idea the GTX 550/560 would be good for games such as Crysis 2 and Battle Field 3.

The 550 is $150 or so, and the 560 is $200.

I understand you want a GPU with 250+ FPS; but can you let me know why? The human eye can only see so much..

I think the GTX760 is a good option, but if you're not willing to spend $260 for it(it comes with a free copy of Watch_Dogs, by the way), go for the HD7790, the best card you can get for 100$.

There are still some people that believe that 30 fps is the maximum limitation of the human eye. This is not true at all. The eye does not see in frames per second.
Most people will see that 60 fps is much smoother than 30 fps. There is a program that you can try to test that difference.

Perhaps you didn't understand what I said. I didn't say 30 FPS is the maximum they human eye can see. My point is that you'll never notice a difference between 120 FPS and 250+ FPS, it's just scientifically impossible unless you have superman eyes or something, so it's a waste of money.

i dont think people understand this to be honest, it doesnt matter if you are gettting 250+ fps because a screen refresh rate is generally only at 60hz which means that you are actually only seeing 60 FPS so you could have 1000 fps or 60 fps and they would both look pretty much the same. Your frame rates comes down to your monitor when you go over 60FPS.

Only reason you'd want more fps is if you make videos to edit..

Just any graphics card over 200 dollars should do the trick haha
