making hacks work without dc with old engine.exe

im posting this cause it might take me a while to get this done
(need to work on my gf's car first)
so heres what u need to do

ok first thing to do is download the engine.exe form this thread
ok link didnt work so heres the download form the other thread

then

#1 get a hex editor


#2 open up the old engine.exe and change the version number to match the new engine.exe that came out after the patch

#3 get peid and crc check or any other crc changing program

#4 run a crc check on the new engine.exe and write down or copy the crc

#5 open up peid and the old engine.exe and change the crc of the old engine.exe to the new engine.exe then save


#6 put the modified engine into ur ca folder and enjoy the hacks again with no dc

ive been trying to get the file sizes to match but so far ive been failing, i always end up with a file size of 1.83mb instead of 1.82

can someone pm there cshell please i fked mine over big time matching file sizes with hex you know what im going to make multiple copies of the game files in ca and frig with them to test stuff hey did you know that ClientFx.fxd file in ca starts out the same as the engine like the first couple parts i got an idea of a bypass ^.^

I'm really LMFAO at this thread because it's bloody hilarious.

What I find most hilarious is that you are trying HELLA HARD to get the old Engine.exe working when pretty much 99% of hacks are created via CShell.dll. ROFL.

Oh yea, FYI, Engine.exe is packed, so you won't be able to do ANY editing of the client itself until you unpack Engine.exe entirely.
