first of all there is no such thing as a silent update. Everytime you open combat arms and press start hack shield updates. That green loading bar is the update. If you want proof go to C:\Nexon\Combat Arms\HShield and click HSUpdate.exe and u will see that the green loading bar comes up. So basicly hack shield updates everytime you start up.

Some guy made a Hack shield downgrader.
It brings Hack shield back to August 27th 2009. I wonder if that'll work...
