Post Help making a Cross Fire Pirvate Server for us Australians

Does anyone know how to do it? I really would like to open up an australian crossfire private server. Since we don't have any crossfire close to us. I dont want to make money out of this. Everything on it will be free, and of course. No keylogger in it. Any help will be much appreciated.

Would be a good idea, but unless you guys don't have copyright laws, it won't happen because Z8/Smilegate wil sue the living fuck out of you lol .

DCMA/copyright laws are global. Smilegate can sue anyone regardless of where they live. Only country i'm aware of which doesn't fully follow DCMA and that's Sweden. Also, this issue has barely anything to do with Z8Games(SmileGate NA or whatever it is) and more so to do with the main smilegate.

Australia is pretty eh with copyright and fines of $10,000 (minimal) can be enforced for international copyright infringement (depending on type, etc)

soGawd, please leave you don't know what you're own about, AUSTRALIA/NZ does NOT have copyright/DCMA go look it up.. we can even watch movies and download them from illegal sites and still get away with it.

He mentions it somewhere in this video:

I'm not sure if i can link youtube videos or not but eh...

DCMA is not global sir. It applies to countries who follow the law, in which apparently Australia doesn't.

Its so unfair that we are like the only ones without a server close to us . Why hasn't it been made yet? I honestly would pay someone to do it for me if they want actual cash/bank transfer. Can't a game company just give us a chance and atleast put a cf in australia in beta and see how it goes. if it doesn't go too well simply shut it down. Im doubting it wont go too well cause there are alot of australian/nz players. Is there any way of convincing another version of cf to expand it? Hope someone can help.

Same here in Switzerland we got no Copyright either, but only for private usage. I guess its the same over there. But for you Australians it would be good.

I know what you need, but I don't know how to set it up... by the way, it would be an expensive idea, so a 'completely' free service wont go anywhere unless you have money and don't mind about it.

-A powerful computer: an X quantity of TB (depending on the amount of users) from hard drive(s), to store all the files and information (accounts, game files, server files, etc.); a HUGE internet connection to provide a fast service (online autopatcher and in-game) and avoid lag and instability; lots of GB from RAM to be able to edit files, apply new updates, make maintenances, etc.; a multicore motherboard with fast processors (and maybe multi/hyper threaded), compatible with all the other devices; the needed power supply for all that; finally, external hard drive(s) with enough TBs to make backups of all the files.

-A host server (wich would be the computer with all the specs listed above).

-Sub servers to be shown in-game, wich would be located in different places (like northern Australia, southern, and/or maybe middle New Zeland), on different computers, connected through the host.

-A forum, to let people meet, watch your news and manage their accounts.

-A team of coders and editors(HTML for the forum, for example).
