I'm using XNA 4.0 in C# (.net framework 4.0) (windows xp sp3, so directx9) Loading a .png as a height-map and creating terrain from that data. basically following tutorial at reimers.net (.png is < 256x256 -- not very large, not too many points in the buffers) Anyway, I get the terrain data created, that works fine. (as in the tutorial) I create an array if indices and vertices which can be used with GraphicsDevice.DrawUserIndexPrimitive() -- but this must send the data from cpu to gpu each fram
Look I used Game Maker, Im pretty good at it now so im moving to XNA. Are there any guides?
Hi, well, i see this part of the forum dont have much post. So i decided to contribute with some Source Codes, Game Components and tutorials made by me /yaay This is a simple pong game, is not finished yet, but it shows the essencial of xna programming bobo ScreenShot of the game runing: Yeah, i know the graphics sucks, but the important is the code :D Features: ToDo: VirusScans: VirusTotal - Free Online Virus, Malware and URL Scanner ( Important: Post here your questions or comments /mhu

Hey guys, I'm making a game with XNA and I've ran into a wall... :( I'm using A* to find paths for my little bots, but since the terrain is ever-changing, I need to check continually if it is possible to get from Point A to Point B. Using A* to check is very CPU consuming (as I just need a true/false, if there is a path between two points). I've read that A* is the fastest method (better than gready-first or Dijkstra's) so I don't know any other option... I don't know any algorithm that would be
Hi, I have one question about XNA. - Is XNA is same as C# or different? Thanks.
Just some info somebody here might need someday :) Mouse Input: Set Mouse Position(Just Oblivious is you used C#): And it is related to the application upper-left conner. Mouse properties: LeftButton: Type: ButtonState Returns the state of the left mouse button. MiddleButton: Type: ButtonState Returns the state of the middle mouse button. RightButton: Type: ButtonState Returns the state of the right mouse button. ScrollWheelValue: Type: int Returns the total accumulated movement of the wheel sin
If your going to make a game menu and and all those things and with that I mean all menus in the game including the game screen that show up. Everything in the game that show up is a part of a screen. (Just the way I show this way to code this) Add this code under the Game1 class: This is just a sample I did. And here are 3 different screens it is the Menu, Lobby and the Game. Now lets add what screen that it shall start showing. Just add that code under the another one. Now it will just show th
~~ Intro ~~ I basically already posted this game, but not with the same code, The game is completely renewed, using classes way better now, using structs, proprieties on vars, etc. The whole game code design is completely different (not code logic, but design), It is now better, before i was using Lists / arrays of the same class, it was really a bad memory usage. Now im using structs with support of classes that contains their own methods/functions about that struct. Also, In overall the code i
