Re-did the fish setup in my tank

    What is on the list,
    • 2 Tiger Oscars (I think a male + female, they seem to be clingy to each other)
    • 2 Albino Oscars
    • 2 Electric Blue Jack Dempseys
    • 1 20gal kit for my Betta. Need to go to my LFS tomorrow and buy decorations + rocks for him. Looks real boring in there. Do bettas get loney? if so, what are some cool fish I could add in that will liven the environment?

Had 4 sharks, gave to my friend as they'd be destroyed by all of the fish inside my current tank.

Very few fish species can be tank mates with Oscars.

Ok I got more ideas then

You need to add a single clown fish (take a fingerling from a dad, that's more fun)

Is baby fish called fingerling lol?

This is a fresh water tank, not saltwater.

Like I said, there are a very select few fish species that will be able to live with Oscars. Most "colorful" fish will be eaten instantly. The Jack Dempseys are as colorful as it will get.

Well to answer your question about betas, They are VERY aggressive and should not have any tank mates. Also, make sure you wash the rocks before you put them into any fish aquarium as they have rock dust in them that may be harmful to the fish.

SOURCE: Previous Knowledge from having a hobby with fish,

I have 2 Turtles at the moment in a 45 gallon tank.

Let me know if you have anymore questions. - The set up looks nice!

Bettas are only aggressive towards the same gender Betta. They live just fine with other fish.

The Beta will be aggressive towards any fish that it sees as a threat. However, I know you are not supposed to have more than one Rainbow or bala shark in the same tank.

Strange, I have heard many times that they don't do well together because they are territorial. Perhaps you had a male and a female?

Have a fish tank of my own

Dunno what they're called in America but there are these fish that literally suck the algae off of the inside of your tank; they're called sucker fish here.

Siamese fighter fish also look pretty nice, dunno about aggression doe
