I'm referring to most of America. This event is quite sad and tragic although I doubt anything big will come of this. The candidates might argue over gun laws but in the end nothing will change, we will just move on to the next event like little drones.

Don't fuck with my gun laws. Gun laws don't stop criminals from acquiring guns. I can literally acquire a few assault rifles and an RPG to boot right now. The only thing gun restrictions are going to do is disarm law abiding citizens, leaving them defenseless.

Some argue that law-abiding citizens typically aren't comfortable with fire-arms in their homes that have the sole-purpose of killing and not hunting, and thus the comfort disbalance actually creates a less safe environment. (Not sure if there are any polls to support that though.) I am not saying, however, that this is my argument.

In Canada, you aren't actually allowed to kill a home invader unless it is in an act of self-defence (i.e they are attacking you personally). Attacking your home isn't enough to consitute either a offensive gun or physical fight. You can try a citizens arrest or phone the police though.

I don't lean either direction on this. The way it is in Canada is fine, we haven't had any big gun problems in a while, but who knows, that might have nothing to do with our gun regulation laws. (In reality, it really isn't that hard to get a gun in Canada as long as its a hunting gun.)
