Most people that use facebook (Not all) are really goofy.
288, also.
The answer is 7.

288, also.
The answer is 2, I typed it in my calculator and it also gave me 2.
Bitch please! It's 42 (herp da derp)
Well, first let's PEMDAS it.
48/2(9+3)
(9+3) = 12
48 / 2 x 12 <!--2 x 24 = 42-->
24 x 12 = 288
no calculator. easy shit. Learned it in Algebra 1 = Freshman year.

Canada uses BEDMAS o.o
*EDIT*
Holy fuck I am a dumbass, I just saw what I did wrong... Goddammit.
This question exploits the fact that we humans are pattern matching machines, whenever we see something like 2(3+6), literally all of the time we multiply what is inside of the brackets with what is outside in every math question.
This is more of a matter of a poorly formatted question. It is like asking a programmer what this means
if(a--->isValid)
{
etc...
}
which looks totally obscure until you reformat it as per usual:
if((a--)->isValid)
etc...

There are two types of tragedies in life. One is not getting what you want, the other is getting it.
If you wake up at a different time in a different place, could you wake up as a different person?
288 is the answer.
PEMDAS is BODMAS which is standard operation of order (ie parenthesis and exponentials take precedent, then division and multiplication then addition and subtraction). Because division and multiplication have the same priority it must be read left to right. The answer is 288.
@AVGN Both are the same and both are correct formats.
The problem with PEMDAS is that it's taught incorrectly by a lot of teachers. They foolishly believe that it's meant to be taken in it's literal order. A more accurately acronym would be PE.MD.AS . You could use EPDMSA or BODMAS, they are all the same but teachers foolishly use that phrase, "Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally" or whatever, and think that parenthesis must precede exponents, division must precede multiplication and addition must precede subtraction.
People must realise that there isn't a single file hierarchy in order of operations, it operates in tiers.
TL;DR the answer is 288. Don't believe me? Type 48/2(9+3) into Google.

Almost said 2, but it is 288 since division and multiplication are in the same "level" of PEMDAS, so you simply go right to left.
It's quite probable. I'm not sure what it's like in the state, but I read somewhere that a teacher need only qualifications in one subject to be able to teach other subject, or perhaps that's only true for gym teachers. I was lucky to go to a HS that specialised in Maths and English and offered extracurricular for those who excel (a rarity for where I live).
I'm stuk in the rural part of Jersey, the only school available was one that a teacher got fired for taking pictures of the wrestlers in the locker room, a teacher who used to be a POW in cuba just we t fuckkn nuts one day and kicked out one of those big windows, a teacher was caught jerkin off in room behind the bathroom and there was a hole drilled into the wall, like it's ridiculous. Luckily the science teachers were all hippies, I learned how to make 10 minute crank, acid, but never learned that other pointless HS crap because my teachers didn't even know it
And yeah if you're qualified for a single subject you can b a substitute, though you need a minimum of three subjects to be full time and the board of education usually makes you go for your masters in English and math if you stay with the school about 10-15 years (my mothers a teacher). Shits crazy nigga
