I wouldn't say that many, but I have friends in some bands, and there is some pretty odd sub-genres out there, not even including the amount of bands who dont really have a genre, just mixing a couple in weird ways. I find it rare to find one I really like, but there are plenty around that people probably think is a joke, but are awesome none the less. I found nintendocore a while back and have loved it for a while.

I found Nintendocore a couple years back as well, it was a strange discovery. I mostly listen to all the heaviest subgenres. Death,Black,and Grind,

Skrillex is dubstep weather you like it or not. It is technically post-dubstep, but still under the dubstep genre as a whole. Whiny elitists that think they decide what is music and what isnt annoy everyone. Do you know how many styles and sub-genres of metal there are? Just because they dont sound exactly the same as a certain band you like does that make them any less metal?

Skrillex is loud, annoying, and over-produced. But thats what dubstep is now, so if you dont like it, dont listen to it. And age has nothing to do with it. I listened to Metallica, Pantera, Anthrax, and all kinds of other bands like that as a kid. 15+ years later, I still listen to them, along with a shit ton of other metal that oldphag people with superiority complexes would hate, but I like it none the less despite growing up listening to what people class as good music only.

Ive always just listened to what I enjoyed. Had no preference for genre or if its 'real music' or not. My dad listened to a lot of it, so I naturally did too.

I'm that way with The Beatles, Hendrix, and Floyd, as well as Electronic music. My brother's had me on EDM since I was about three years old, so I always jammed on the drums to Floyd but then immediately got off and listened to old school trance. No wonder I like drugs

OT: @Aborted, I'd like to know some of the bands you listen to, you could post them here, or link them to me in a PM. I'm getting tired of listening to the same old shit, and want to start getting into some new things. I listen to The Red Chord, TBDM, Cannibal Corpse, Whitechapel, and Job for a Cowboy most of the time. I'll divert sometimes, but these are what I mostly stick to.

I'd greatly appreciate it.
