Hmm. Let's see.. I downloaded some apps. Hotspot shield, Dumb Ways To Die, Flappy Bird (High score is 38), iFunny, Bloons TD Battles, MPGH App.

The first time I went into the default SMS, which is Hangout, it said I had to confirm my phone number. So I did. Couldn't receive messages still. So I then went into my settings and confirmed that the Hangout app was the Default SMS app. After that, I downloaded some other texting apps such as Textra. It still didn't work.

And currently, I am only playing games on it...



No. I have been in many skype calls with different friends telling them to text me back... They said the message was never delivered or anything.

I once got the same problem.
I have a Bq Aquaris 5 Android 4.1.4 and I solved it that day by installing another sms app. Instead of using regular sms app, that comes with phone, install GoSMS or similar and check if it works. It worked for me. Also try rebooting phone (some other issues usually solved with this) (and yes I know its a stupid answer, but sometimes stupid things work best)

Use your Verizon iphone with Tmobile. It's unlocked and will work, problem solved!

I think there is an alternative to the Hangouts app, go on the Google Play market and I can't remember correctly but it's called 8sms, or something. It's a blue speech bublei think...

But then you have to go to settings and set the new app you downloaded as your default app. Texting should resume to work.

I just recently switched plans from Verizon to T-Mobile... Which means I got a new phone. I went from an iPhone 5 to a Nexus 5. It's okay so far, Huge screen and all, but there is a huge problem. I have already tried Googleing the problem, and nothing has fixed it.

I am able to send texts and have the opposite party receive the texts, but when they send me a text, I cannot get it. The only person I can receive texts from is my mom.

So, if you have an android and have had this problem, please tell me how to fix it. We are most likely going to go into the store tomorrow and have them fix it for us or something.

Call t-mobile support.

Maybe you have text-blocker enabled.

My father had that because he kept getting spam texts that actually cost him money.
