YouTube is finally getting 60FPS

Thank God, I was wondering when they were going to make the jump. According to these articles they're also going to be doing a few more upgrades that have been heavily asked for like adding a donation button so that you can directly support a channel. Glad to see YouTube making some big changes that the community have been asking for.

The upside to this is that instead of me having to download a 200MB file to see 60FPS in game whilst watching a console vs PC video I can just watch the video, and of course the fact that video will be smoother than Color's pickup lines.

It will be when YouTube is updated, the video has been recorded and uploaded in 60FPS but YouTube limits the framerate.

It's already 60FPS for me. If you have Chrome and the HTML5 Player (which is enabled by default), you should notice a huge difference (afaik, the resolution has to be 720p or above). I can also confirm via the WEBM metadata:

The fact that the video has to be in 720p or above makes sense now. Looking at the video you can tell from a mile away that it's smoother.

I presumed that they would be adding the feature in at a later date but it seems like they already have.

Oh wow. I switched to 720p and the video is amazingly smooth! I was playing it alongside the 30fps version of the trailer and the difference is really big. THanks for that
