There Should Be An Escrow System

I'm not sure how popular the marketplace section is on here but I posted a thread 5 days ago and my business has been exploding. I'm wondering how hard it would be to implement it. I could see this website becoming bigger than what it already is

If it is to do with digital goods - I think Middlemen were proxy escrow service.
I wish they were back for safer and scam-free trading

Middlemen were considered the Escrow service but the Middleman program has been put on hold for now.

I wonder if the stoppage of MM program created more scammer grave reports?

There's no recorded data or statistics to fully make the claim that without the MM there have been more scam reports but just by thinking about it, we can make the assumption that with the MM in place, it was safer to make big trades.

The MM system will be put back into place once they update the MM tool so its easier and more efficient. This is what I have heard so I can not confirm if this is true or not.

Thanks for the information. I suppose as an idea the powers of B could make a threshold or minimum value trades for MM get involved. I mean $2-$3 trades are surely too small to take so much time of a MM.

Well being a MM is a voluntary job and its more of added "feature" in the forums to make trading safer. If we start treating MM like a service (which some forums do) then the whole point of it being a voluntary job goes out the window. MM are staff so they are upheld to a certain standard. If they can't do the job thats expected of them, then the admins will find someone else that will. Paying the MM will just cloud the work environment. MM won't bother with the small trades since they won't be getting a big cut as opposed to the big trades. I think its fair and unbiased to level the playing field and offer the MM service to everyone.

Oh no, maybe I didn't articulate myself well. I meant to say it might be more efficient to put a minimum on a value of a trade that is going to be getting MM involvement. Not to pay MMs (unless somebody feels tipping). I might be totally out of my depth here.

escrow services are not free, and there has to be some income generated to cover the cost of the development of the escrow.

Well, it is a trade-off I guess .. you pay a little bit more but reduce the chances of being scammed.
