Good laptop for College level type of work.

I'm looking for a decent laptop that i could use for school.
Something that's 600-700 or possibly cheaper. Nothing more than 700,
I will be using an IDE for coding, i will be typing, watching youtube videos, and using spotify and browsing. That's as much as i will be doing,.
Can someone guide me to a decent laptop

For such I'd suggest something very basic.

    More than enough.

which one would be better, because one is about 100$ more expensive.

    Edit:
I think the hp because its a little smaller and i'd rather not carry a 15 inch in my backpack

Have you looked into XPS 13 refurbished from Dell? I've got mine for roughly $600 about a year ago and it's been working great. It's small, yet its a 13inch, the bezels are amazingly thin, and best of all, it's lightweight.

Nice mate. I'd urge you to get a 15" model instead, even if you plan on getting another brand/model. 15" fits in any generic backpack, allows for a decently sized keyboard, better specs and the extra screen real estate will come in handy when browsing/editing.
    that one?

Will you be doing any work that refers to Adobe or video editing? Or will this be a generic laptop?

Yup. Although I think Dell is at 9360 right now. I would prefer to buy it when Dell has one of those refurbished sales and when you order through a rep I believe it's another 3% off. I can't exactly remember but the laptop came literally looking brand new and I have not had a problem with it yet.

I have the same one you linked

Second this. Other then the Razer Blade, all of the other ones are clunky as hell and the battery life is god awful.
