Ummm, there's no blending between the render and the background at all. Did you make the background? If so, it's pretty naice. But you need to have your render suit the BG more rather than just dropping it on top.

I'm not really good with adding FX with the render. But, (correct me if I'm wrong) You could duplicate the render layer, put it behind the original and smudge the edges of it. You can also make another duplicate behind the original and the smudge and add a Gaussian blue from around 2.0px to 3.0px. Also you should have a BG that has somewhat the same colors of the render/focal.
