WOW Windows 8 SUCKS, it looks so horrible... When it comes out. I'm either switching to linux, or i'm gonna keep using win7... Wow... Just wow Microsoft...

Okay, i just watched that video again, and i did see that it does have the desktop and that the start screen is a frontend deal, trying to make the OS "More Hip" or some shit like that. But seeing the start screen every time i boot my computer will be annoying as fuck... I hope there is an option to skip the start screen, and just go straight to the desktop...

Except look at the title bars there, AWESOMELY screwed up! Everything is 20x as big as it needs to be for mouse usage.

If you've checked the W8 in detail; can we finally have more then 4 GPUs in a single rig? Linux can handle 8 but windows is capped at 4..

As much as you guise hate windows 8, it is actually pretty nice. Considering that tablets will get more and more powerful, they have a chance at replacing desktop for the general population not programmers, businesses, etc.

Hell, if my Droid X2 phone already has a 1 ghz dual core processor, imagine how powerful tablets could become in a few years. 1 ghz. the minimum processor speed to run windows 7, on a phone the size of my hand/

Noone forces you to upgrade to windows 8... mac is too homosexual to even be considered(because they fucked over a lot of GUIs... i still hate steam's glittery pile of bullshit even though it's been out for a while)

It's not that i hate Windows 8, it's that i hate the start screen. If there is a way to turn off the start screen, or not show it anymore, i would love windows 8. Otherwise i'm going to continue to h8 because the start screen is just absolutely annoying.

There probably is - go into legacy mode and deal with the huge text size (you can see the semi-centered-but-still-left title bar on the Windows 8 Windows legacy mode).

I think windows 8 will be annoying as shit for regular users with a mouse. The touch-screen styling would be epic for tablets, Microsoft Surface, Phones, etc, but it just doesn't gel well with mouse usage. The ergonomics of touch-screens is purely based on touch (obviously), using a mouse is like performing open heart surgery with a sledgehammer; it just doesn't feel right.

I haven't even upgraded to Windows 7 yet, so when Win8 comes out I'll probably just move to Win7

Kudos to them for it being great for tablets, but they need to realise that most of the PC population don't have a tablet.

Also, if the minimum clock speed required to run an operating system 10 years ago was ... 10MHz, and its now 1GHz, imagine what it'll be like in a few years time :3

tbh I don't want a tablet as my main PC. It's just ... going to be hell. If I bring a (friends) laptop around, I can't actully do anything productive with it on my lap - I need it on a nice big table with a mouse and keyboard, somethign I only find in buildings.. which kind of defeats the purpose if you ask me.
