[Voting/Discussion] which kind of camera is better?

Alright well just tell me which camera between [Nikon] and [Canon] you think is better and a few words why you say that. i am having trouble keeping my nikon d3100 because alot of people are telling me alot of different things.

I'd buy a D5100 when I have the money. It has built in HDR, 0.5 second start-up delay, takes up to 650 shots, and I think it gets 4FPS. Not entirely sure. Compare it to other cameras such as the T3i and it kind of shits on it. Think it retails for $850.

but i would say they both should have something good and bad about them.

doesn't matter between canon or nikon, both good quality cameras
but once you get a brand you tend to stick with it cause you start to buy lenses and other stuff (eg badass flashes)

eg i shoot in RAW and use a 4gb card, so i get around 350-400 shots on a card

Both are pretty decent. But been using normal Canon cameras for years now and they never dissapointed me.

eg i shoot in RAW and use a 4gb card, so i get around 350-400 shots on a card

Didn't know that. I was just basing the HDR off of what I read on a website awhile back. Also, as for the amount of shots you can get in, I was using that to compare battery size. Albeit, I don't know much about cameras, I've taken an interest in the industry because I'm planning on getting on before my senior year so I can document that and a vacation to Taiwan after graduation

HDR is just merging multiple exposures together :|
and great you're one of those kids who want's to get an SLR, to do what you could do a lot better with a point and shoot
