The answer is YES!!! Don't buy ps3 but buy xbox and yeah buy a new one 4gigs is okay if you just have flash drives you can use. or if you wanna spend 80 bucks on a 250 gig is nice.

I bought a new 4gb slim and just got a used hard drive. It's hard to fuck up an xbox hdd.

My cousins have a Xbox Slim and they don't ever play it.
I might ask them for it since they play SSF4 Arcade Edition on the PS3 everyday.
But it's gonna be a pain to pay for the online service

Don't pick which console to get based on whether or not you have to pay for the online service.
