So I'm taking a few summer classes for university to get some stupid ass general education credits out of the way, and there is this pretty anti-social girl I know, let's call her Mari.

Either way, she's super dark (in the personality sense) and barely says anything. I've known her for 1.5 or so months, and I made it my goal that I wanted to try to change her for the better. At first, it was hard to get through to her, but she slowly opened to me after realizing I was genuinely concerned.

Turns out she was pretty much hated for most of her grade school career because of how anti-social she is. So she was the easy target of all those nasty bitches that are so representative of public school.

So for the past 1.5 months, I've slowly been trying to "raise" her into somebody who can swim by herself in the social world, and it's been going great.
I've been trying to help Mari gain more confidence, open up, and more importantly, trust others. She hasn't had any friends really, so I was really proud when she starting talking and became friends with this girl Sara.

Mari tells me that Sara is her first friend in pretty much her whole life, and I want this to go well since It will help Mari grow as a person.

However, there have been issues along the way as well. Over the past 1.5 months, bad things have been happening to Mari.
For example, notes telling her to kill herself and other nasty stuff are placed on her desk before anybody gets to class. She's finding notes in her bags telling her nasty things, rumors have been spreading about Mari that I know aren't true.

I was feeling down one day, so I was talking to Mari at a park and she gave me a hug, and the next thing I know, next time I go to class, pictures of us hugging are spread around the lecture hall with nasty comments.

I was pissed, but what's worse is what I felt for Mari. All the time and hard work to change and she took a serious blow from this.

I was super upset, so I was walking alone in the park later on, and I threw a rock at a flock of birds and they flew away. I look around to see somebody take a picture of me, and run away. It was far so I couldn't tell who it was in the split second I saw their face. I chase them and finally grab them.

Turns out it was Sara. I ask her what the hell she is doing, and she eventually admits that the person who was writing all those nasty things and spread that picture of Mari and I was her, all along.

I just needed to know why, and she tells me this. She said that she wants to get super close to Mari, as one of her only friends, and then later on reveal that the person who was ruining her life with all those notes and spreading the picture was her all along, causing Mari to lose all trust in everybody and fall into depression so badly she'll want to kill herself.

I was at a total loss. I had no idea what to do. If I tell Mari, she'll get super depressed knowing that a friend like Sara was the culprit all along, and lose all faith in trusting people again, so at this point I'm a slave to Sara.

After class a few days later, outside, I pull Sara over and beg her to stop, explaining why Mari can't find this out. She's tries to get all sassy and act like she's in so much power. I know it wasn't a good idea, but I grab her collar and start insisting she stops. She laughs, and then makes a fake scream that I'm abusing her, and the passerbyers rush to the scene and Sara is fake crying. She says that she doesn't care about me and doesn't want to take any action against my "abuse", but word gets around that I was hitting a girl.

It doesn't go great with Mari that I'm hitting her supposed friend, so now I'm starting to lose the trust of Mari as well. I can't explain because Mari doesn't want to talk to me for the time being, and in the mean while Sara is probably injecting some lies about me into Mari's thoughts.

This Sara Girl. This Sara Girl, I swear. She's the worst trash of mankind I've ever seen. This isn't a "hate" level, this is so deep I can't even explain it.


I call my parents and ask what I should do, and they can't help much. The situation is too complicated, and they can't really give me anything worth listening to, so as I'm about to hang up out of frustration, they tell me at the end that I should just move in with my aunti and uncle in bel air

I can't believe I read a story like that, people in university shouldn't be acting like kids. Just tell Mari the situation and advise her to drop her new friend, if she trusts you enough she'll listen. If not then you'll have to hope she chooses the right path; good luck.
