I've seen lots of people asking about if people saw them do this command or that command in town.
For the vast majority of commands, it only affects you. Only you can see the action for every command, because the commands are mostly client sided. All the transformations in the world won't do anything, because nobody else in town is directly connected to your client, thereby nobody else can see them.
After a lot of goofing around with a friend outside of Colhen, we have found that the exceptions are:
"sv_gravity -x"
"plr_turning_movement_speed_min_rate x"
"host_timescale x"
What the movement speed command does is tell your game to interpret normal movement at 5x the regular speed. Even though the other people that can see you still see your feet moving at a normal speed for running, your X/Y co-ordinates in game are still controlled by your client, sent to the server, and then sent to the other clients. Basically you will appear to be skipping around town like you are really laggy, but your feet running at normal speed.
The gravity command will do the same thing, when gravity is reversed. Your character's Z axis co-ordinate will be changing, and people will see you float up into the air.
This same reasoning is applied while in dungeons. If you are the host, then when you press any command, all people connected to you (everyone in the party) will start moving faster, or floating, or see you transform. This is because you are the client that every else connects to.
However, if you are just a member of the party, since nobody is connected to your client, the run speed commands and many others simply won't work.
As far as any other commands go. The easiest test that you can do to see if a hack will affect others. Join a party with another hacker as the party leader. Try using a command.
If it DOESN'T work for you when you AREN'T the party leader, it will apply to EVERYONE when you ARE the party leader.
If it DOES work for you when you AREN'T the party leader, it will only apply TO YOU when you ARE the party leader.
I have yet to find an exception to this rule. However, anything that has a direct visual effect, like transformations can still be seen by others whenever you use them regardless of party leader / member status.
System messages are only broadcast to your own computer AFAIK. I don't use system messages with my set up, but I have read elsewhere that they don't transfer over.
You have nothing to worry about by having done any random command while in town, as nobody will see it. Just avoid the ones i listed above.

Now we don't have to repeat this same answer over and over![]()
or when we do we get to rage at them for not reading this![]()
RAWR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!
WooHoo member im so special
i feel all tingly inside
question: let's say you're the host of a party, and you use an invisible command like the one for fast stamina recovery - does that only affect your stamina or everyone's since they're connected to your client?
also let's say you have cc_system_message linked on and get a system message up say like "Fast Stamina" - can others see these system messages if you're the host and they're connected to you.
just always wondered about these...![]()

Yes to the stamina question. Everyone's stamina will recover at a faster rate if you are the party host and use the command.
System messages are only broadcast to your own computer AFAIK. I don't use system messages with my set up, but I have read elsewhere that they don't transfer over.

Hopefully that clears up your question.
Adding this chunk to original post.

Im not up-to-date, does transform still work? Cause parts of that are also visible.

Transform does still work in town, and yes if people are looking very closely at you, they'll see you kinda stop and glitch animation for a second, as well as hear your draw your weapon.
But that's only for a split second, and you don't actually do the full transformation animation in town visible to others. So, unless they are watching you very carefully, or you are performing trans in town constantly (why?), you should be fine.

Now I understand what your posting and thanks but I saw a Karoke do the Paladin Tentacles in Town, I saw this and made a comment to him that what he was doing was stupid and he shouldn't draw attention to himself, he played off that he didn't know what I was talking about and left...IDGAS what he was doing but reading your post I think there might be something with this. Thanks for the heads up.
