Hello, currently after the last BE updates ( 1.85=>current ) I and many others have started experiencing huge ammouts of lag.
There are 2 methods to use, I recommend using the second one only if the first one does not work for you( it did not for me, I use method 2 all the time and it is working great )
Also contains how to fix FPS lag, mouse lag.
Code:
Method 1:
1. Go to battleye.com
2. Download the top 2 files(BE Client for Windows (32-bit) & BE Server for Windows (32-bit)
3. Go to your ArmA2/ArmA2:OA install location
4. Copy the 2 files you downloaded earlyer
5. Paste them into ArmA2\BattlEye (Path Example: D:\ArmA 2 Combined Operations\Battleye)
6. Paste them into ArmA2\Expansion/BattlEye (Path Example: D:\ArmA 2 Combined Operations\Expansion\BattlEye)
(Overwrite the files)
7. Have fun!
Code:
Method 2:
ATTENTION: It needs to be done every time you go into ArmA2/ArmA2:OA
1. After you launch ArmA2/ArmA2:OA and it is fully loaded
(While you are still at the main menu for best performance)
2. Open up Task Manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL if you are too lazy to go alt-tab and rightclick the taskbar)
3. Go to processes
4. Find up ArmA2/ArmA2:OA(arma2oa.exe / arma2.exe)
5. Right click on it
6. Set priority
7. Set it to Above Normal/High(High from personal experience, real time will cause lag)
8. When prompted to change priority, click Change.
9. Close Task Manager
10. Have fun!
Guides for further increasing performance(the 2 methods above should be enough, but just in case you might want to take a look at this)
Code:
FPS Lag
ATTENTION: Backup the .cfg files before doing this, I am not responsible for what you are doing!
1. Go into My Documents
2. Open up ArmA2
3. Look for these lines in ArmA2.cfg, ArmA2OA.cfg
GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1000;
GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=3;
4. Change them to:
GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1;
GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=1;
5. Have fun!
Code:
Mouse Lag
1. Open ArmA2/ArmA2:OA
2. Go to settings.
ATTENTION: As you may know or not know, each profile has its own settings so you might have to do this for every profile you are using!
3. Look up for mouse smoothing and drag it to 0
4. Have fun!
Code:
Setting the game use multiple CPU's(cores)
1. Go to steam library or the shortcut you use in order to start the game
2. Open up properties
3. Go to launch options (or just properties if it's a non-steam shortcut)
4. Add this line to launch options (properties if it's a non-steam shortcut):
-CpuCount=# (#=number of cores to use, I have a dual core so I will use 2, aka -CpuCount=2)
5. Have fun!
If you guys need any more info or require screenshots at using one of the two methods or using any of the other 3 guides, just ask and I will update the thread!
