UPDATE: TO KEEP YOUR CURRENT GRAPHIC QUALITY SETTINGS BUT STILL HAVE THE RENDER TO NO SHOW FOR FAR RANGE:
TAKE OUT
Code:r.MipMapLODBias=15
As everyone is aware, the latest PUBG update has now made it unplayable to change the .ini files to take out grass and foliage. HOWEVER, you can still use it to change your graphic quality settings.
First of all, I do not take credit for any of this. Found commands pretty much everywhere from everyone.
NOTE: This might be more of a nuisance than helpful for some people. Use willingly and freely upon yourself. Don't complain about how this is worse than the old method. Just providing an alternative for others.
Instructions:
-Go to this window file path: C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\TslGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEdito r
-Open up Engine.ini
-Hit enter after your last line to create a space.
-Paste in code on new empty line:
-Save it.Code:[/script/engine.renderersettings] r.MipMapLODBias=15 foliage.OnlyLOD=0
-Right click > Properties. Tick the read-only text box.
-Apply.
This pretty much lowers the quality settings past the lowest you can have in the game settings.
(Makes everything looks smooth but playdough-ish looking.)
Since the quality is lowered so much, rendering takes a lot less, resulting in only rendering what's infront of you and close enough. Everything out afar won't be seen. i.e. trees, cars, grass, fences, other wall obstacles. (Only when you can zoom in close enough they'll reappear)
In other words, it's really useful to spot people running around.
(Take the 1st picture as my example)
PROS:
-Clears out grass, trees, fences, obstacles, rocks, etc.
-Helps improve FPS BOOST, (I got an extra +20 from this) for gameplay
-Easier to spot enemies hiding or running afar
CONS:
-More playdough-ish looking
-Obstacles and grass/trees/bushes/fences won't be seen until up close in range to you.
-CROSSHAIR DOT WILL BE GONE FOR THE FOLLOWING SCOPES:
-Red Dot
-4x
(Have not tried 2x nor 15x, if someone could, let me know.)
8x & Holographic works perfectly fine.
OVERALL:
I do not take any responsibility whether somehow you get banned from this.
This is upon your decision whether you want to take this 'risk' and try it yourself.
Have fun!

This actually is more preferable to the patched method of removing all grass/trees because
-Can actually tell when you are shooting at someone behind a tree instead of seeing blood and realizing you've put too many shots in them to still be standing.
-ADS to find cover rather than having to kill people before they get in range.
I assume we can't drive through trees anymore if they render up close but that makes it all the less likely to be reported.
It would be best if it was old. Thank you
I've found a few different settings like this that work, this one is probably the worst for potatoe effect...
My methods keep the game looking nice but still remove trees and such at a suitable distance.
Would be nice if you could share your method![]()
is it possible to remove grass, trees, etc without changing the graphics?

Ok, i think I know your settings and I tried them out a few hours ago. But the distance where the Grass disappear is too far.
So you got no Close Combat advantage like before the patch.
the game was very ugly and you can only see the opponent from afar, the old method was better, some savior of the country?
So I go to C:\Users\[UserName] but there is no appdata file? Not sure of my issue
