I finally started playing Minecraft on my sister's laptop .
My PC is shit with 500mb of RAM , so I'm going to buy 4GB of RAM so maybe I can start playing MineCraft .
Does Graphics card matter , because my graphics card and the whole pc is shit ?

Since most of the answers to this thread are incorrect and based on opinion rather than facat, here is what I will say about Minecraft and its performance.
Minecraft is mostly GPU reliant, and does not require much RAM! Minecraft's start parameters are -Xmx1024m and -Xms512m which means that Minecraft is started with an initial heap size of 512MB, which expands up to 1024MB when required. This means the maximum amount of RAM Minecraft can use is 1GB.
The game is also heavily reliant on your graphics card rendering capability. If your graphics card has 2GB of RAM, but has a terrible rending ability, then you will so no difference in framerate than a computer with rendering capability. Intel HD Graphics 3000 and below fit in the "terrible rendering cards" category.
To the people that are using Intel HD Graphics, that is a terrible card for Minecraft. It has almost no rendering ability, unless you're using an Ivy Bridge CPU with Intel HD Graphics 4000. Otherwise an ATI or NVIDIA card is optimal. If you see random lines everywhere, then you're using the wrong libraries for rendering the game. Update your drivers.
In other words, the graphics card makes the biggest difference when playing Minecraft.

You're going to see random colored lines everywhere, its sucks. And I have 2GB RAM and it laggs very often.

Graphics card makes a big difference... my FPS sucks compared to CF where it is CPU dependent.

The better gpu, the more fps.
Someone kill the DJ, Shoot the fucking DJ
