Since I have joined the youth academy and am currently a "Jr." police officer my friends have been hating on me telling me that cops are the worst and ect. Do any of you guys hate police officers also? And if so, why?

I've never come across an officer I didn't like. People watching too many YouTube videos on cop abuse get it in their head that they're spiteful. Unless your friends have been in conflict with many unfair officers in the past, their opinions and they themselves should be ignored.

It's because of all the news in america lately that is anti-cop. Everyone thinks every cop is corrupt. I don't think any of my friends have even talked to a cop but because we live so close to compton and the new movie (not saying it was bad it was actually great) had a lot of anti cop messages in it because of how they used to be in the past and now people in my area are starting to watch this movie then continue on to blindly riot against cops just because of a movie show casing one case that happened years ago.

"Stupid people" accept corrupt cops cuz they don't fine "every1". While on the other hand the true meaning of being a cop is getting THOSE douchebags of the streets because of many people on street die. I suggest being yourself. Who cares what others think.

I've had to deal with my local PD, and they are pricks. They perform based on a quota, which they technically shouldn't have and they deny exists. So they're incentivised to make as many arrests and write out as many tickets as possible each month to reach the quota, rather than focusing on "protecting and serving". They've been reduced from a pillar of the community to glorified tax collectors with sidearms. The end of the month is a fucking nightmare because these fuckers patrol the streets like silent great whites, and do anything they can to write you a ticket and search you.

from what i've found, it varies from city to city; police down here are pretty chill unless they're REALLY bored and they'll pull you over and just let you go for no reason essentially
