1.) Bill Walked 23 Miles West Then Walked 4 Miles North, Determine The Following.

A. The Distance Bill Walked __________________________
B. Bill's Displacement, R/0

2.) A 24 KG Crate Is Pushed By A 624 Newton Force. Determine The Following.

A.)Weight Of Box.
B.)Force Of Friction If U (MU) Is 0.242
C.)The Net Force
D.)The Acceleration (If Any)

3.) A 32 KG Crate Is On An Inclined ( Ø = 16 Degree) Which Has A U =0.33 Determine The Folowing
A.Weight Of Crate
B.Fu
C.Fperpendicular (I Can't Draw The Upside Down T)

D. Acceleration

Please Write Down How You Got The Answers If You Do Answer Them Thx

Keep in mind The A,B,C,D are the things you need to solve, this is not multiple choice -_-

1st one, its not about physics i guess, its about pythagoras math theory or something like that

basically you squared 23 and 4, which is 529 and 16

add it up and square root it, but idk why i got 23.3452...

B. To solve this question, you have to use Pythagorean theorem because he walked 23 west and 4 miles north.
You drew a line that goes west and put 23 there.
Then draw a line that goes up connected to the last west line you drew.
It will form a

so you have to solve the missing spot which is the " / " in order to form a triangle.
You have to use the a^2+b^2=c^2
``It is asking for the progress that he walked.

The question mark is the displacement. The direction does not matter but sometimes you have to state them when your teacher asks you to do so.

I appriciate you telling me this, but I am sure it's wrong, because I got the second part figured out. The first part is wrong because arun and the other guy confirmed the write answer.

If you are looking for the total distance, trust me it is just a plus.
For the second one.

Variables:
m = 24kg
fa = 624N
u= .242
mg = ???
fnet = ???

The weight of the box is = Mass x Gravity. Simply because it is a downward force.
The force appiled is 624 Newton
The friction is = u x mg
Fnet is = Fa - ff. It is minus because the force are in opposite directions.
Acceleration = probably none since it is a flat surface.

2) A)F = ma = (24 kg)(9.8 m/s/s) = 235.2 N
B) fk = µkmg cos θ
=(0.242)(24kg)(9.8m/s/s)Cos 90
=(im too lazy to find my calculator)

C)?Don't know
D)Sum of forces (vertical forces cancel as evidenced by lack of acceleration in the vertical dimension)
Fnet = T + Ff
Fnet = (624) + (-(answer of the friction)) = ?? N

i guess thats it . but I will edit thought if i get the other answers . currently having a headache

Yeah as I said, I need to use this as a example to solve my other problems. I got this question down, and understood how you got it. I am solving problems similar to it right know.
