How Long?

Releasing a cheat publicly on a popular site like MPGH compared to private cheats is a huge difference. With private cheats aslong as you maintain them they are a lot less likely to be detected as to where if you were using a public cheat on a known cheating website you'll be lucky if the cheats last 3 days.

Why would i pay someone to make one, when i can make my own? . Thanks i appreciate your insight. Hopefully i can make one that lasts a few good weeks.

What is the detection process for a cheat semeone made for themselves only?

Vac scans your ram in attempt to find programs that could give you an advantage. So if your using a public hack, once they catch a single cheater they can just match the data to anyone who used the hacks and ban them as well. the idea here is to make hacks for your self so they take much longer for valve to discover.

Yeah but, what i meant was, how does valve "catch" the first (and only) cheater for a private hack.

They upload sketchy programs and when a lot of players use it they manually analyze it.

I'm just speculating here, but i believe they attempt to read active processes and see what kind of activity they are outputting. So if they see a process that they don't recognize they will attempt to gather information on it from it's activity. Engineers will analyze it in an attempt to see if its giving you an advantage or not.
