💡 ROTMG Optimizations
Hello friends! First time making a thread on this forum so I apologize if I'm not really doing this right. I've actually been a player for about 3 years and a forum member since last year. Anyway, lets get started.
We all know that Realm of the Mad God players love quick, clean running clients right? Who doesn't? Better performing clients create and easier environment to play in and on top of that make sure that all of our shots are registered. Nobody likes TPing to Thessal in an OT only to be struck in the face by a handful of micro-freezes and frame drops.
I'm sure many of us have used ORape clients and it is no secret that there are many options within that let you achieve better performing clients with less lag, but would it be possible to further trim down and optimize our favorite pixelated multiplayer game? I personally do not know enough about editing ROTMG, but I was hoping you guys would be able to answer this question for me. If the answer is no, are there any unconventional methods to achieve better performance that most do not know of?

Thank you guys for reading
You could always close all these programs/processes that are using a lot of the CPU and Memory on your computer. Using programs like Game Booster should help you as well. You can always just change the client quality from high to low which sometimes helps but I don't really find it helping tbh
Colors: I've already done all of this, which is why I said unconventional methods.

059: How would one go about using a proxy to do those things? My goal is to essentially make a 'bare bones' client to achieve somewhat decent performance on not only my awful little laptop but others who have the same issue. Your guicande would be very much appreciated.

Keep ally projectiles off (blocking via proxy is even better). Unless you rewrite a large part of the game, a better optimized client is probably not going to happen other than minor adjustments. You can remove all pets (except yours) via proxy which would help. Basically not drawing anything unnecessary.
and why does the memory use increase over time? is there any thing kabam or us can do about it?

Its just how it works. The more tiles you uncover, etc, the more data the game stores, no?

Just seems weird that tiny game needs to restart every hour while you can play skyrim and other games for 10 hours without needing to refresh.

Also, is there any way to block the particles that appear when you shoot something? I feel like that's causing a lot of the lag in guardians and o1 and tombs.

059 released a nice little client that takes away ALL unnecessary particles. Proxies can be used to block basically everything.

How do you use proxies? I have never heard of this method before

Shitty data garbage collecting.
