Steam Controller?

So I when I opened steam (for the first time in ages) I noticed a pop up said "Pre-order steam controller"
Although I hate steam with a passion, this intrigued me. What do you guys think about it?

P.S: If this is old news, keep in mind that I don't use steam.

It's made of two trackpads and a bunch of triggers, supposed to make pc gaming viable on a couch, but probably not that good. Don't order until the reviews are in.

Even though I hate it, it's cool that steam is coming out with a controller. I think some games will be easier to play, but that's just my opinion.
