Careers...?
So, I just finished High School and now i'm into the real world... Most people decide what they want to do Junior / Senior year but I have no idea. I don't really want to spend the money on college if I don't have to. I'm very interested in Law Enforcement, I love cars / trucks (Potentially a Mechanic?), I am obviously a closet nerd and love technology and computers. Anyone have any interesting ideas for me to look into? Also, does anyone have a great paying job that didn't go to college?
Nowaday its hard to find a job without a degree in your hand. Get students loan and pay back later.

Yeah, but is it really worth to go into that much debt for a job you might not actually enjoy for the rest of your life?
You can get your answer to that once you go to college and eventually you'll find out what you like to do. Didn't you say you like something related to Law? I wouldn't recommend you to waste your time working your ass off for just minimum wages.

Go to community college and look for a part time job so that you can save some money.

Wish you luck bro.
Many people go undeclared.
If you are really all about saving money, you could have applied to many scholarships and/or did really well in High School for free money.
Go take on a community college and transfer out of there to a university to pursue at least a Bachelor, you will soon (hopefully) find out what you really want to do with your life.

Appreciate the input, school never really interested me. Didn't like waiting up to go learn stuff that I either already knew or didn't interest me so I think that's pushing me away from paying for schooling.
Don't forget you can also have fun in school too sometime. Party, girls, weed. Haha

If I were to go to college I wouldn't stay there, I smoke weed almost everyday for my stomach so it's not much of a thing but my friend went off to college this year so i'm going to go stay with him a bit and party... so pretty much the college experience with no school and without paying haha

Just don't go overdosing on it.
Why don't you look into Information assurance/Cyber Security? That is the field that I am currently interested in. Idk the colleges in your area, but I would assume at least one community college around you has this major for cheap.

I think that my nearest community college does, but it mixed in with a homeland security certification... would still be useful if I decide to go into law enforcement. Luckily for me you can still get hired around here for police departments without any degree or anything, just a bit harder.

Well, so long as you work really hard for it you can get there! I would honestly suggest going with Cyber security though. It is higher paid and less risky.

Police Officers make a pretty stupid amount of money, I had to do a huge project for high school and had to do 20 hours of job shadowing etc and I did it on police officers and they were telling me how they get paid $70-80 an hour to direct traffic as overtime... not to mention that you work for 20 years then you're 40-45 or so and are pulling in 110k+ a year as a pension and could still work another job if you want.

That's an average for a starting cop, usually around 45-60k for the first few years and if you're on the job for 20 years it gets around 100k+ a year.
